About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own day-to-day accounting operations
- Support the monthly accounting close process and FP&A budget-to-actual reporting
- Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by accounting team members
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff
- Prepare clinical trial accruals by reviewing clinical contracts, CRO reports, patient costs, site costs, and invoices
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and clinical vendors to ensure accruals are complete, accurate, and timely
- Implement accounting policies and procedures
- Maintain internal controls and improve processes
- Support annual audits, quarterly financial reviews, and internal controls testing
- Support system implementations and other projects
- Collaborate with finance, clinical operations, external vendors, and cross-functional partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Deep technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP), including R&D accruals and clinical trial accounting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of public company requirements and internal controls (SOX)
- Experience supporting Big 4 or national firm audits
- Excellent judgment and high integrity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and remain comfortable with change and ambiguity
- Flexible, proactive, and hands-on mindset
- CPA license preferred
- Public accounting experience preferred
- Experience with NetSuite preferred
