About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work directly with business teams to understand their needs, processes and business rules
Analyse and interpret existing SAS code and processes, identifying data sources, transformations, dependencies and outputs
Document processes and business rules relevant to future migration
Help define the approach for migrating SAS processes to Databricks/Fabric
Support development, testing and validation of migrated processes
Compare results between SAS and Databricks/Fabric platforms
Liaise with technical and business teams to clarify questions and ensure solutions meet requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need

Hands-on experience maintaining SAS processes
Ability to analyse and interpret SAS code written by others
Experience gathering requirements and working directly with business teams
Solid knowledge of SQL and data processing and transformation
Experience documenting processes, business rules and data flows
Basic knowledge of Databricks, particularly for data processing and transformation
Strong communication skills, autonomy and a collaborative mindset
Experience with Python and/or PySpark (nice to have)
Experience in data platform migration or modernisation projects (nice to have)
Experience validating and reconciling data across systems (nice to have)
Knowledge of data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes (nice to have)
Experience with Databricks (nice to have)
