About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications using PowerBuilder
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects
- Perform application debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Support production deployments and resolve application issues within SLA timelines
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, project managers, QA teams, and other technical teams
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices
- Prepare technical documentation, design documents, and deployment guides
- Provide estimates for development and enhancement efforts
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced developers when required
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of professional experience as a PowerBuilder Developer
- Strong expertise in PowerBuilder, including PowerScript, DataWindow, and DataStores
- Strong experience with relational databases and SQL, including stored procedures and query tuning
- Proven experience in financial markets projects
- Understanding of financial instruments and the trade lifecycle
- Experience with production support and troubleshooting in critical environments
- Experience with Git for version control
- Knowledge of n-tier architectures
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
- English proficiency at C1 level, written and spoken
- Experience with recent PowerBuilder versions (2019/2022) is nice to have
- Experience with application upgrades, migrations, or modernization projects is nice to have
- Knowledge of web services and integration (REST/SOAP, JSON/XML) is nice to have
- Agile/Scrum and CI/CD practices are nice to have
