About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements of tink GmbH in accordance with German GAAP (HGB)
Manage key general ledger areas, including accruals, provisions, and balance sheet matters
Develop clear, well-documented technical solutions for outstanding accounting issues
Reconcile intercompany transactions and ensure accurate recharging
Be responsible for VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, and relevant statistical reports
Answer tax-related technical questions within your area of responsibility
Prepare information for auditors, tax advisors, tax audits, and banks
Act as the primary technical contact for accounting matters and represent the function to auditors
Ensure compliance with German commercial and tax law requirements
Coordinate with accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank accounting, and other accounting interfaces
Improve finance processes and contribute to automation initiatives
Further develop the ERP and BI systems landscape in collaboration with the responsible teams
Support junior colleagues with technical questions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Commercial training or a degree with a focus on finance and accounting
Ideally, further qualification as a certified Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK) or equivalent
Alternatively, a background as a tax clerk, finance specialist, or business economist with extensive experience in financial close processes
At least four to five years of experience in financial accounting
Two to three annual financial statements prepared independently under German GAAP (HGB)
Confident application of HGB accounting principles
Familiarity with German tax regulations and related filings
IFRS knowledge is welcome but not required
Experience supporting audits
Ability to present complex matters clearly to different audiences and represent them from a technical perspective
Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems such as DATEV, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, or Business Central
Advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed asset, or bank accounting is an advantage
Structured, independent, and reliable working style
Experience in tech, e-commerce, retail, or a scale-up environment can facilitate your onboarding
