About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide engineering services and support commercial dealer systems operations through evaluation, analysis, design, supervision, upgrading and installation of equipment, controls, power distribution and process systems
- Design, develop and install new machine control and power systems for global commercial dealer systems equipment
- Propose programs to advance equipment and processes in product quality, productivity, energy efficiency, environmental responsibility and safety
- Maintain standardization of control systems and components
- Evaluate existing processes and equipment and recommend modifications and refinements for cost savings, quality and safety improvements
- Interface with commercial dealer systems operations, manufacturing plants, tread and mold design group and corporate marketing during equipment development feasibility studies
- Manage multiple projects, including cost, schedule and functionality
- Coordinate engineers, technicians and contractors; coach and mentor engineers and technicians
- Visit global commercial franchised dealers to study processes, consult with personnel and make recommendations
- Represent the company with outside suppliers
- Serve as technical expert/resource to Technical Support Group and Technical Support Representatives and provide field support
- Develop and maintain QMS reference documents, technical work instructions and forms
- Attend trade shows and technical seminars and keep current with technology
- Provide training to other engineers
- Collaborate with mechanical design, project and process engineering teams, as well as Marketing, Sales, Legal, IT, Finance, Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain and Production Control
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent work experience
- Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally less than 15%
- Must be willing to work extended hours as needed to achieve company goals
- Must be willing to live in or near the Muscatine, IA area
- Unable to offer sponsorship for this position
