About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of children
- Maintain open communication with parents and share children's daily milestones
- Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines
- Work in person at an early education/preschool child care center
- Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in accordance with Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, guidance, and applicable laws and regulations
- Ensure the safety of children in Bright Horizons’ care and the employee
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current high school student enrolled in an Early Childhood Education (ECE) program
- Must be 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must pass required state and company background checks
- Must meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
- 1 year of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool settings preferred
- CDA, Associate, or bachelor’s degree in early education or related field preferred
- Must comply with applicable immunization, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally more than 40 pounds
- Full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities
- Ability to respond immediately and appropriately to multiple, unexpected situations or emergencies
- Mental and physical alertness and appropriate energy level to perform essential job requirements
