About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of children
- Maintain open communication with parents and share children's daily milestones
- Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines
- Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services in an early education/preschool child care center
- Work in compliance with Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, guidance, and applicable laws and regulations
- Ensure the safety of children in Bright Horizons’ care and the employee
- Work with infants or preschool children on the 8:30am–5:30pm shift
Requirements
What you’ll need- 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED is required
- Candidates must pass required state and company background checks
- Candidates must meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for children is required
- Registered with Colorado Shines/PDIS Level 2
- College-level coursework in early childhood education, CDA, or an associate or bachelor’s degree in early education or related field is preferred
- 1 year of professional experience teaching in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is preferred
- Ability to comply with applicable immunization, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally more than 40 pounds
- Full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities
- Ability to respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
- Mental and physical alertness and appropriate energy level to perform essential job requirements
