Key responsibilities & impact

Create hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of children
Maintain open communication with parents and share children’s daily milestones
Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines
Work in person in an early education/preschool child care center
Provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery, and services according to Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, and guidance
Comply with applicable laws and regulations and ensure the safety of children in Bright Horizons’ care

What you’ll need

Must be 18 years of age
High school diploma or GED required
Must pass required state and company background checks
Must meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for children required
Colorado State Requirement of PDIS Level 2 required
College-level coursework in early childhood education, CDA, or an associate or bachelor’s degree in early education or related field preferred
1 year of professional experience teaching in child care, daycare, or preschool settings preferred
Must comply with applicable immunization, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training requirements
Ability to lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds frequently and more than 40 pounds occasionally
Full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities
Ability to respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
Mental and physical alertness and appropriate energy level to perform essential job requirements
