About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create hands-on activities to meet the needs and interests of children
- Maintain open communication with parents and share children’s daily milestones
- Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines
- Provide supervision and care for children in an early education/preschool child care center
- Deliver curriculum and services according to Bright Horizons’ policies, procedures, and guidance
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations
- Ensure the safety of children and employees in Bright Horizons care
- Work with infants, toddlers, twos, preschool, and pre-K age groups
- Work one of the available shifts: 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED is required
- College-level coursework in early childhood education, CDA, or an associate or bachelor’s degree in early education or related field is required
- 1 year of professional experience teaching in child care, daycare, or preschool settings is required
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for children is required
- Must pass required state and company background checks
- Must meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
- Must comply with applicable immunization, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training requirements
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds and occasionally more than 40 pounds
- Full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and participate in activities
- Ability to respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
- Ability to maintain mental and physical alertness and appropriate energy level
