About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization platforms
  • Engineer software-defined networking and software-defined storage platforms
  • Support on-premises and hybrid cloud environments
  • Work with vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu
  • Automate platform operations and manage capacity
  • Operate enterprise-scale VMware estates alongside modern cloud-native workloads
  • Apply practical judgment to the evolving VMware product landscape
  • Troubleshoot issues across compute, network, and storage layers
  • Implement and support disaster recovery patterns and SRM

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Five or more years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience
  • Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi
  • Hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management
  • Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking
  • Strong PowerCLI scripting skills and experience with automation tooling
  • Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms
  • Strong understanding of disaster recovery patterns and SRM
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, network, and storage layers
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • U.S. work authorization as a U.S. Citizen, Green Card Holder, EAD Holder, or eligible H-1B transfer candidate
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP credentials preferred
  • Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE preferred
  • Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) preferred
  • Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations preferred
  • Exposure to migration programs out of VMware to alternative virtualization platforms preferred
  • New H-1B visa sponsorship is unavailable
