About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, deploy, and operate VMware-based virtualization platforms
Operate software-defined networking and software-defined storage platforms
Manage platforms across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments
Work with vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Aria, and Tanzu
Automate platform operations
Perform capacity management
Operate and maintain a large VMware estate alongside modern cloud-native workloads
Apply automation and operations discipline to enterprise-scale VMware platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
6+ years of experience required
Five or more years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience
Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi
Hands-on experience with vSAN and storage policy management
Experience with NSX-T or NSX-V networking
Strong PowerCLI scripting skills and experience with automation tooling
Familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms
Strong understanding of disaster recovery patterns and SRM
Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, network, and storage layers
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
U.S. Citizens, Green Card Holders, EAD Holders, and H-1B transfer candidates are encouraged to apply

Preferred: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VCAP credentials
Preferred: Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, or GCVE
Preferred: Familiarity with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
Preferred: Experience with Aria Operations / vRealize Operations
Preferred: Exposure to migration programs out of VMware to alternative virtualization platforms
