About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer and dispense medications and injections according to accepted nursing practice guidance
- Manage patient medication preselection and drug administration
- Perform initial inductions and provide medical services as needed
- Conduct assessments and monitor vital signs for dose changes
- Educate patients about treatment, health, and safety policies
- Schedule appointments and document no-shows in the system
- Attend required on-site staff and multidisciplinary team meetings
- Sign and process physician orders
- Enter notes and flags in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Maintain, monitor, and reconcile medication inventory
- Follow regulatory and company compliance requirements, including HIPAA
- Complete documentation using the designated EMR
- Comply with the BrightView Infection Control plan and educate patients and staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in drug/alcohol or psychiatric setting
- Associates Degree in Nursing (NDA) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- State Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Understanding of behavioral health and substance use disorders
- Familiarity with HIPAA 42-CFR Part 2 desired
- Prior experience with harm reduction is a plus
- Competence working with diverse colleagues and patients
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
- Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Adaptability within a dynamic work environment
- Comfortable operating EMR and MS Office Suite
- Compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements
- Highly empathetic and compassionate approach
