About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Facilitate timely and efficient patient flow throughout patient visits
  • Perform administrative duties supporting patient flow
  • Prepare specimens for shipping
  • Maintain laboratory supply inventory and a sanitary, organized work environment
  • Provide input on treatment philosophy, treatment services, and patient care
  • Communicate with teams regarding patient appointments
  • Attend required meetings, huddles, and center-team collaboration
  • Consult team members on lab testing, results, and patient issues
  • Collect laboratory specimens accurately and in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Review, post, and disseminate laboratory results
  • Complete timely and comprehensive documentation in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Maintain new and existing patient accounts, including insurance and billing information
  • Provide patient care under appropriate supervision while following treatment program policies, medical standards, and practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of prior medical assistant experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly empathetic and compassionate to effectively support patients’ recovery journey
  • Competent at working with a diverse population of colleagues and patients
  • Problem-solving ability and sense of urgency to meet patient needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
  • Adaptability within a dynamic work environment
  • Technological proficiency with multiple systems for communication and documentation
  • Familiarity with MS Office software preferred
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and 42-CFR Part 2 desired
  • Prior experience with harm reduction a plus
  • Operate with integrity and comply with work standards and regulatory requirements
