About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide medical services in collaboration with a licensed physician
- Implement treatment plans in coordination with the supervising physician
- Inform patients about the medical components of their treatment
- Mentor and conduct professional development activities in medical subjects relevant to patient treatment
- Participate in required trainings
- Develop and present training content on medical topics relevant to substance use disorders and general health practices
- Ensure implementation of medical quality health standards for patients and employees
- Provide medical input into program philosophy, treatment services, and patient care
- Respond to emergency care providers when consultation is required
- Collaborate with physicians, clinics, or hospitals involved in patient treatment
- Attend weekly treatment team meetings, seminars, and training
- Maintain current knowledge of drug abuse and treatment information
- Develop effective relationships with patients, team members, and constituents
- Ensure the treatment center meets accreditation standards related to medical, health, and safety issues
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Active state licensure (FNP/APRN/CNP/PMHNP)
- 3 to 5 years’ experience preferred
- At least 1 year of experience in addiction treatment setting preferred
- D.E.A licensure as required by BrightView
- Perform medical services within the scope of education, training, and expertise
- Hold a basic understanding of drug/alcohol abuse and addiction
- Comply with federal, state, local, and accrediting agency requirements
