Senior Accountant
BrightView. Prepare and review monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare and review monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes and meet close timelines
- Create financial statements, including balance sheet, P&L, and cash flows
- Support financial audits by preparing documentation and liaising with external auditors
- Perform monthly variance analyses and support internal stakeholders in understanding financial performance
- Collaborate in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
- Assist in creating weekly cash forecasts and gain treasury experience
- Support preparation and filing of sales/use and property tax returns
- Ensure timely and accurate tax payments and compliance with filing deadlines
- Support tax-related audits or government agency inquiries
- Maintain strong internal controls over accounting processes and financial reporting
- Identify automation opportunities using Claude, Alteryx, and Co-Pilot
- Participate in implementing and refining accounting systems and tools
- Support M&A integration of acquired businesses and newly acquired operations
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting setting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA license required
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Self-starter, willing to take initiative and identify potential solutions to new problems and challenges
- Consistently demonstrates professionalism and gracefully manages conflict, setting an example for staff
- Proficiency in accounting software, such as Sage Intacct and LeaseQuery
- Advanced Excel skills
- Adaptable and agile within a dynamic work environment
