About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review client requirements and standards for new or updated process instrumentation
  • Develop instrumentation solutions, including detailed designs, specifications, and sizing of process instrumentation
  • Design and size control valves and on/off automated valves
  • Prepare instrumentation proposals based on client RFQs and standards
  • Lead instrument projects
  • Manage client technical meetings and presentations
  • Develop and manage instrumentation design solutions and deliverables
  • Select and size process instrumentation and interface with instrument vendors
  • Lead field and technical evaluations of instrumentation projects
  • Provide technical support for field execution, including outage and turnaround projects
  • Manage multiple projects
  • Mentor intermediate and junior instrument engineers
  • Assist with developing instrument group standards, work processes, deliverables, and enabling technologies
  • Conduct field evaluations, RCFA, modeling, and calculations
  • Develop training and mentoring platforms for internal team growth
  • Develop subject matter expertise in multiple areas

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BSc in Instrument, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience
  • P.E. preferred
  • Knowledge of ISA, API, and ASME instrumentation standards
  • Knowledge of SPI and instrument vendor sizing software
  • Experience mentoring and leading teams required
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with DCS and PLC systems
  • Physical mobility on the ground and at heights
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and use required fall protection
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE
  • Ability to work in confined spaces when required
  • Ability to adhere to client random drug testing programs when required
  • Ability to meet client facial hair safety policies when required
  • Must meet all client-specific site requirements before field assignments
