About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist engineers or lead other designers in field evaluations of industrial structures
Obtain field measurements for BIM 3D and 2D AutoCAD engineering drawings
Develop and manage complex 3D structural models across multiple projects
Produce construction-ready drawing packages with plans, sections, details, schedules, and general notes
Model and document steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structural systems
Identify and communicate design gaps, coordination issues, and documentation inconsistencies
Maintain model health using work sets, view templates, phase management, linked models, and coordination standards
Lead interdisciplinary coordination using Navisworks and other BIM tools
Identify, track, and resolve clashes across Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, and Civil disciplines
Serve as the primary BIM point of contact for assigned projects
Coordinate with engineers and specialty consultants
Facilitate coordination meetings and document open items, RFIs, and model conflicts
Manage federated model assembly and deliver NWC, IFC, and PDF coordination exports
Perform QC reviews of models and drawing sets
Enforce company BIM standards, project BEPs, and client-specific requirements
Develop and maintain project-specific drawing templates, title blocks, GS templates, and sheet sets
Provide technical guidance and support to BIM Designer Level 1 staff
Assist with onboarding new team members to project workflows and software environments

Requirements

What you’ll need

2-year technical degree
8+ years of experience
Proficiency with 2D and 3D BIM modeling, including CADWorx, S3D, E3D, or similar tools
Proficiency with Revit
Point cloud integration experience
Knowledge of AWS D1.1
Basic mentoring and small-team technical oversight
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical mobility on the ground and at heights
Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and use required fall protection
Ability to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE
Ability to work in confined spaces when required
Ability to adhere to client random drug testing programs when required
Ability to meet client facial hair safety policies when required
Ability to meet all client-specific site requirements before field assignments
Exposure to Bluebeam, Advanced Steel, and design codes preferred
