About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the pooled Senior Manager, Agile Strategic Learning Partner team and hold direct line-management responsibility
  • Define and operationalize agile pooled resourcing mechanics, capacity matching, portfolio review rhythms, and skills-based resourcing
  • Ensure projects complete standardized intake before resourcing is considered
  • Apply independent Priority, Tier, and Resource criteria across the portfolio
  • Maintain and present the CoE Book of Work
  • Match Senior Managers to projects based on skills, specialist knowledge, capacity, and project phase
  • Lead portfolio reviews to rebalance capacity and resolve over- or under-capacity issues
  • Uphold operating guardrails, including prototype-focused work, LEAP handoff for systematized production, and a 70% strategy/30% creation target
  • Partner with functional Associate Directors to align pooled resources with priorities and maintain a coherent learner experience
  • Collaborate with LEAP on requirements, SME nominations, review cycles, delivery readiness, performance reporting, value validation, and vendor governance
  • Partner with HR and IT on AI- and technology-enabled workforce design and operating model approaches
  • Track operating model indicators such as intake tiering, prototype turnaround, workload ratios, capability uplift, reuse, and cost avoidance
  • Report portfolio health and active demand pipeline to the Senior Director and governance forums
  • Stay current on AI-enabled learning technologies and recommend scalable practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced degree or Project Management certification preferred
  • 8–10+ years of experience in learning, commercialization, or capability development, ideally within life sciences
  • Experience launching global programs required
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including managing and developing a team through a flexible, project-based, or matrixed resourcing model
  • Experience operating a portfolio-level prioritization and governance process across competing business priorities
  • Strong understanding of agile ways of working and pooled/flexible resourcing models within a learning or capability development function
  • Experience with global delivery partners and multi-partner delivery ecosystems, including managing service levels and escalation pathways
  • Comfort working with operational and resourcing data, including capacity, utilization, and demand
  • Experience or strong interest in workforce strategy and organizational design
  • Familiarity with emerging AI and content-creation technologies
  • High level of data, digital, and AI fluency
  • Exceptional influencing and consulting skills
  • Ability to operate credibly at senior levels and resolve trade-offs in complex, matrixed global environments
  • Ability to maintain guardrails and quality standards while managing multiple concurrent stakeholders
  • Ability to drive delivery accountability and high performance through direct reports and others without direct line management authority
