About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Promote approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets compliantly
- Drive demand for BMS medicines for appropriate patients
- Engage healthcare providers through differentiated customer experiences and scientific dialogue consistent with product labeling
- Build and maintain professional credibility with regional thought leaders, community physicians, HCPs, office staff and other patient-care stakeholders
- Liaise with other BMS functions to deliver a higher customer experience
- Prioritize safe and appropriate use of BMS products while achieving business results and performance objectives
- Spend 100% of time in the field with external customers
- Maintain and grow scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas
- Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans
- Use CE^3 and other tools to derive insights and inform call plans
- Present approved scientific information to HCPs in office presentations and lunch-and-learns
- Organize external speaker programs, including speaker selection, scheduling and logistics
- Maintain working expertise on emerging data for approved indications
- Use Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries
- Collaborate with field teams and share customer insights internally
- Comply with laws, regulations and BMS policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales, MSL, HCP or nurse
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians
- Experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers, office staff and customer influence networks
- Experience in Psychiatry preferred
- Strong account management skills
- Superior selling competencies and proven sales performance track record meeting or exceeding goals
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally
- Strong selling and promotional skills with a performance track record
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to analyze prescribing patterns, market trends, HCP preferences and clinical data
- Ability to segment HCPs and tailor communication and product presentations
- Ability to use CE^3 for insights and dynamic call planning
- Competency using CE^3 and CRM or other software tools
- Ability to use Medical on Call technology
- Strong business acumen and ability to develop, execute and adjust business plans
- High integrity and good judgment
- For the company-provided vehicle: at least 21 years of age, a driver’s license in good standing issued by the state of residence, and an acceptable driving risk level
