About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive demand for BMS medicines within the cardiovascular portfolio for appropriate patients
- Engage healthcare providers through differentiated customer experiences and scientific dialogue consistent with product labeling
- Build and maintain professional credibility with regional thought leaders, community physicians, HCPs, medical groups, office staff, and patient-care stakeholders
- Liaise with other BMS functions to deliver a higher customer experience
- Prioritize safe and appropriate use of BMS products while meeting business and performance objectives
- Promote approved BMS product indications within a defined territory or region
- Articulate the clinical and scientific rationale for products in appropriate patients
- Maintain and grow scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas
- Prepare and implement territory and account plans
- Use SOPHIA to derive insights and inform call plans
- Provide tool feedback to leadership for continuous improvement
- Present approved scientific resources and publications to HCPs with medical accuracy
- Conduct in-office presentations such as lunch-and-learns
- Organize external speaker programs, including speaker selection, scheduling, and logistics
- Maintain working expertise on emerging data for approved indications
- Use Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries
- Collaborate with field teams to support HCP customer experience
- Gather and share customer insights internally
- Comply with laws, regulations, and BMS policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians
- Experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers, office staff, and customer influence networks
- Cardiovascular experience preferred
- Strong account management skills
- Superior selling competencies and proven sales performance meeting or exceeding goals
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally
- Strong selling and promotional skills with a performance track record
- Ability to drive business results
- Experience identifying, engaging, and cultivating customer credibility across the patient care journey
- Understanding of the patient journey and ability to customize engagement and deliver tailored messages
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong learning mindset and passion for science
- Ability to analyze prescribing patterns, market trends, HCP preferences, and clinical data
- Ability to segment HCPs
- Ability to use CE^3 for insights and dynamic call planning
- Digital communication and video conferencing proficiency
- Competency using CE^3 and software or CRM tools
- Ability to use Medical on Call technology
- Strong business acumen and ability to develop, execute, and adjust business plans
- Learning agility, integrity, and good judgment
- At least 21 years of age
- Driver’s license in good standing issued by the state of residence
- Acceptable driving risk level determined by the Company
- Must meet the Company’s Qualified Driver requirements for operation of a company-provided vehicle
