About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive demand for BMS cardiovascular medicines for appropriate patients
  • Engage health care providers through differentiated customer experiences and scientific dialogue consistent with product labels
  • Build and maintain professional credibility with regional thought leaders, community physicians, HCPs, private practices, medical groups, office staff, and other patient-care stakeholders
  • Liaise with other BMS functions to deliver a higher customer experience
  • Promote approved BMS product indications within an assigned territory and meet or exceed sales targets compliantly
  • Explain the clinical and scientific rationale for products in appropriate patients
  • Maintain and grow scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans
  • Use SOPHIA and CE^3 insights to inform dynamic call plans
  • Provide leadership feedback on tool usage for continuous improvement
  • Present approved scientific information to HCPs through in-office presentations and lunch-and-learns
  • Organize external speaker programs, including speaker selection, scheduling, and logistics
  • Maintain working expertise on emerging data for approved indications
  • Engage Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries
  • Collaborate with other field teams and share customer insights internally
  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and BMS policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers, office staff, and customer influence networks
  • Experience in cardiovascular preferred
  • Demonstrated account management skills, superior selling competencies, and proven sales performance meeting or exceeding goals
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a performance track record
  • Customer/commercial mindset and ability to drive business results
  • Experience identifying, engaging, and cultivating credibility with customers across the patient care journey
  • Understanding of the patient journey and patient-focused mindset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for scientific and clinical data
  • Strong learning mindset and passion for science; ability to stay current with latest data
  • Ability to analyze prescribing patterns, market trends, HCP preferences, and clinical data
  • Ability to segment HCPs and tailor communications and product presentations
  • Ability to use CE^3 for insights and dynamic call planning
  • Digital communication and technology proficiency, including email, instant messaging, and video conferencing
  • Competency using CE^3 and other software or CRM tools to collect, enter, and manage compliant data, track interactions, and plan engagements
  • Ability to use Medical on Call technology
  • Strong business acumen and ability to develop, execute, and adjust business plans
  • Learning agility, integrity, and good judgment
  • Ability to operate a company-provided vehicle
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Driver’s license in good standing issued by the state of residence
  • Driving risk level acceptable to the Company
