About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive demand for BMS oncology medicines for appropriate patients within the assigned territory
- Engage health care providers through differentiated customer experiences and scientific dialogue consistent with product labeling
- Build and maintain professional credibility with regional thought leaders, community physicians, HCPs, office staff, and other patient-care stakeholders
- Liaise with BMS functions to deliver a higher customer experience and meet HCP needs
- Promote approved BMS product indications in the defined territory while meeting or exceeding sales targets compliantly
- Explain the clinical and scientific rationale for product use in appropriate patients
- Maintain and grow scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas
- Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans
- Use CE^3 to derive insights and dynamically inform call plans
- Conduct in-office presentations and discuss product-related scientific information with HCPs
- Organize external speaker programs and coordinate approved speaker scheduling and logistics
- Maintain working expertise on emerging data for approved indications
- Use Medical on Call to answer unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries
- Collaborate with other field teams and share customer insights internally
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies
- Spend 100% of time in the field with external customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians
- Experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers, office staff, and customer influence networks
- Oncology experience preferred
- Strong account management skills, superior selling competencies, and proven sales performance track record
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally
- Strong selling and promotional skills with a proven performance track record
- Ability to drive business results and analyze business and market drivers
- Experience identifying, engaging, and cultivating credibility with customers across the patient care journey
- Demonstrated account management and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of the patient journey and ability to customize engagement and tailored messages
- Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills
- Ability to analyze prescribing patterns, market trends, HCP preferences, clinical data, and customer preferences
- Ability to segment HCPs and use data-driven insights
- Ability to use CE^3 for insights and dynamic call planning
- Competency using CE^3 and other software or CRM tools
- Ability to use Medical on Call technology
- Ability to use internet and online resources effectively
- Strong business acumen and learning agility
- High integrity and good judgment
- Must meet Company Qualified Driver requirements, including being at least 21 years of age, holding a driver’s license in good standing issued by the state of residence, and maintaining an acceptable driving risk level
