About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive demand for BMS medicines within the assigned oncology portfolio for appropriate patients
- Engage health care providers through differentiated customer experiences and scientific dialogue consistent with product labeling
- Build and maintain professional credibility with regional thought leaders, community physicians, medical groups, office staff, and other patient-care stakeholders
- Liaise with other BMS functions to deliver timely, scientific customer experiences
- Promote approved indications within the defined Long Island territory while meeting or exceeding sales targets compliantly
- Explain the clinical and scientific rationale for products to HCPs
- Maintain scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas
- Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans
- Use CE^3 and other tools to generate insights and inform call plans
- Conduct in-office presentations, including lunch-and-learns, on product-related scientific information
- Organize external speaker programs and coordinate approved speakers, scheduling, and logistics
- Maintain working expertise on emerging data for approved indications
- Engage Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries
- Collaborate with field teams to optimize HCP customer experience
- Gather and share customer insights internally
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and BMS policies
- Spend 100% of anticipated working time in the field with external customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse
- Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians
- Experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers, office staff, and customer influence networks
- Experience in Oncology preferred
- Strong account management skills, superior selling competencies, and proven sales performance meeting or exceeding goals
- Ability to work effectively cross-functionally
- Strong selling and promotional skills with a track record of performance
- Customer/commercial mindset and ability to drive business results
- Experience identifying, engaging, and cultivating credibility with customers across the patient care journey
- Account management and problem-solving skills; ability to customize engagement and deliver tailored messages
- Understanding of the patient journey and patient-focused mindset
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for scientific and clinical data
- Ability to analyze prescribing patterns, market trends, HCP preferences, and clinical data
- Ability to segment HCPs and interpret product/customer data
- Ability to use CE^3 for insights and dynamic call planning
- Competency with CE^3, software or CRM tools, digital communication channels, Medical on Call technology, internet, and online resources
- Strong business acumen and ability to develop, execute, and adjust business plans
- Integrity and good judgment to comply with BMS policies and procedures
- At least 21 years of age
- Driver’s license in good standing issued by the state of residence
- Acceptable driving risk level as determined by the Company
- Ability to meet the Company’s “Qualified Driver” requirements
