About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Promote approved indications of BMS products within the defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets compliantly
  • Create demand for BMS medicines by communicating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients
  • Maintain and grow scientific expertise in assigned products and therapeutic areas
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive territory and account plans
  • Use CE^3 and other available tools to derive insights and inform call plans
  • Present approved scientific information to HCPs through in-office presentations and lunch-and-learns
  • Organize external speaker programs, including speaker selection, scheduling, and logistics
  • Maintain working expertise on emerging data for approved indications
  • Engage Medical on Call for unsolicited questions and complex technical inquiries
  • Build and maintain credibility with regional thought leaders, community physicians, HCPs, office staff, and other patient-care stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other BMS field teams and functions to improve the customer experience
  • Gather and share customer insights internally with appropriate stakeholders
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies
  • Spend 100% of time in the field with external customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Advanced scientific degree and/or preferred 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience as healthcare sales / MSL / HCP / nurse
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately and convincingly to physicians
  • Experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers, office staff, and customer influence networks
  • Experience in Oncology preferred
  • Strong account management skills, superior selling competencies, and proven sales performance meeting or exceeding goals
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally
  • Strong selling and promotional skills with a track record of performance
  • Ability to identify, engage, and cultivate credibility with customers across the patient care journey
  • Ability to analyze prescribing patterns, market trends, HCP preferences, and clinical data
  • Ability to segment HCPs and tailor communication and product presentations
  • Ability to use CE^3 for insights and dynamic call planning
  • Competency using CE^3 and other software or CRM tools
  • Ability to use Medical on Call technology effectively
  • Ability to navigate and utilize internet and online resources
  • Strong business acumen to analyze business and market drivers and develop, execute, and adjust business plans
  • High integrity and good judgment to comply with BMS policies and procedures
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Driver’s license in good standing issued by the state of residence
  • Acceptable driving risk level as determined by the Company
  • Must meet the Company’s Qualified Driver requirements for operation of a Company-provided vehicle
