About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Shape reliable, secure, and cost-effective technology services
Manage the day-to-day operation and improvement of the hybrid technology estate
Oversee SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS services
Maintain Azure networking, compute, storage, and platform capabilities
Support on-premises Windows and Linux Server estates
Maintain virtualisation platforms and the wider hybrid operating model
Create practical, scalable solutions using Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, and automation scripting
Maintain CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
Design and test backup and disaster recovery arrangements
Maintain monitoring and observability tools
Respond thoughtfully to incidents
Collaborate with engineering, security, and operations colleagues to identify root causes
Improve services and embed DevSecOps practices
Share knowledge and explore new approaches

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong Azure engineering experience across infrastructure, platform services, identity and security
Extensive knowledge of Terraform
Extensive knowledge of CI/CD
Knowledge of cloud governance
Knowledge of FinOps
Knowledge of the Azure Well-Architected Framework
Experience with Infrastructure as Code
Experience with automation scripting
Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines through Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
Experience designing and testing backup and disaster recovery arrangements
Experience maintaining monitoring and observability tools
Experience supporting on-premises Windows and Linux Server estates
Experience with virtualisation platforms
Experience of cloud migration and modernisation would be valuable
Experience in regulated environments would be valuable
Relevant professional certifications or demonstrable equivalent experience
Ability to attend an office 2 days per week
