About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide legal support to the British Business Bank on contentious matters arising across its business activities
Advise on litigation, potential legal challenges and dispute management
Support governance and escalation processes with internal colleagues and external stakeholders
Provide practical, commercially aware legal advice in an in-house financial services context
Provide legal input and advice to Product Teams, Senior Management, Risk and Compliance, Local Growth, Policy, Strategy and Economics, Finance and Procurement as required
Work closely with product teams, information governance, risk and the wider Legal and Corporate Governance team

Requirements

What you’ll need

Legal experience broadly equivalent to at least five years’ PQE
Applications welcome from candidates with fewer years’ PQE who can demonstrate the required skills, experience and competencies
Experience advising on contentious matters within a litigation or regulatory team
Financial services knowledge ideally
FOIA experience advantageous
Experience providing legal support directly to business leads in-house or in private practice advantageous
