About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver enterprise-level Instructor-Led Training (ILT) and Virtual Instructor-Led Training (vILT)
- Serve as a Lead Instructor for high-touch sessions with enterprise customer teams, engineers, and administrators
- Facilitate complex hands-on lab exercises and live technical demonstrations
- Navigate unscripted, deep-dive technical Q&A
- Troubleshoot live lab environments and technical edge cases during training delivery
- Partner with the Business Unit on courseware development, lab topology review, and student guide updates
- Provide classroom feedback and student insights to align training with field needs
- Help establish delivery best practices
- Assist in onboarding guest or peer instructors
- Travel to customer sites or corporate events for onsite classroom training as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current VCI (VMware Certified Instructor) status strongly preferred
- Active VCP or higher advanced VMware credential preferred/required
- Hands-on experience operating, implementing, or engineering VCF environments
- Background as a VCI, authorized technical instructor, Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Lead
- Proven track record presenting complex platform architectures to sophisticated enterprise engineering teams
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Relevant years of experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
- 12+ years related experience required
- Expertise in VCF platform architecture, including multi-domain architecture, deployment, full-stack lifecycle management, and Day-2 operational strategies
- Expertise in vSphere, ESXi host tuning, vCenter Server, cluster management, HA, DRS, and workload lifecycle operations
- Knowledge of VCF management domains, workload domains, SDDC Manager / VCF management services, and upgrades
- Knowledge of VMware NSX, including virtual routing and switching, micro-segmentation, and security concepts
- Knowledge of VMware vSAN architecture, SPBM, resilience, and operations
- Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring, performance management, log analytics, and capacity management
- Knowledge of self-service automation concepts, governance frameworks, and API integrations
- Knowledge of modern Kubernetes concepts on VCF, including Supervisor services and Tanzu / VCF Kubernetes Services (VKS)
- Knowledge of DNS, NTP, certificates/PKI, identity, security, and high availability
