About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software and enhancements to existing software for bespoke CQG applications
  • Manage a team of software developers in day-to-day responsibilities
  • Train and mentor junior engineers and guide cross-functional team members
  • Analyze business needs and develop customized software solutions aligned across system architectures
  • Translate business requirements into tasks, assign work, and develop agile work plans
  • Create and review development tickets and allocate work based on team skills and priorities
  • Lead daily planning sessions, retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies
  • Review developers’ work and support performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution
  • Establish and implement development standards, policies, and procedures
  • Review coding practices, software architecture, testing, and integration of new software
  • Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to design and architect solutions
  • Coordinate internal and external business teams and IT groups to manage dependencies and deliverables
  • Ensure assignments are completed within agreed timelines
  • Estimate task completion timelines and monitor progress
  • Research emerging technologies and assess potential integration into CQG systems
  • Support business users by answering questions, researching requests, troubleshooting issues, and resolving problems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience overseeing the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of software of moderate complexity
  • Software development team leadership experience
  • Business partnership, project planning, and quality assurance experience
  • Ability to analyze business needs and develop customized software solutions
  • Ability to translate business requirements into discrete tasks and develop work plans in a lean, agile environment
  • Experience with development tickets, task allocation, and agile ceremonies
  • Experience reviewing coding practices, software architecture, testing, and software integration
  • Ability to design and architect solutions meeting business and technical requirements
  • Ability to coordinate with business teams and IT groups to manage dependencies and deliverables
  • Ability to estimate task timelines and monitor progress
  • Experience researching emerging technologies and assessing their integration into systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot software and support business users
  • Ability to work in the Colorado-Home Office location
