About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a globally distributed infrastructure and security organization spanning multiple time zones and geographies
  • Recruit, retain, and develop top-tier talent; establish career development paths, succession planning, and performance frameworks
  • Drive organizational design for optimal 24/7 worldwide operations coverage
  • Serve as senior security executive accountable for the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of trading server infrastructure
  • Define and execute enterprise information security strategy, policies, standards, and frameworks
  • Own the security risk register and present cyber risk exposure, mitigation strategies, and incident reports to senior leadership
  • Govern incident response, playbooks, tabletop exercises, and executive crisis communications
  • Embed security into infrastructure engineering, CI/CD pipelines, automation workflows, and AI-driven operations
  • Oversee vulnerability lifecycle management and remediation SLA enforcement across global assets
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulatory requirements and manage internal/external auditor relationships
  • Provide strategic direction for on-premises server and hybrid-cloud environments supporting low-latency trading systems, market data, and exchange connectivity
  • Maintain infrastructure and cybersecurity roadmaps aligned with business growth, regulation, and threat changes
  • Lead technical debt elimination, platform standardization, EOL remediation, and next-generation infrastructure adoption
  • Define executive investment cases balancing cyber resilience spending and operational efficiency
  • Establish OKRs and KPIs connecting cybersecurity and infrastructure performance to business outcomes
  • Drive infrastructure operations and development convergence through strategic CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code adoption
  • Identify and pilot emerging technologies for threat detection, response orchestration, and predictive infrastructure health

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in cybersecurity and/or infrastructure management within financial services, electronic trading, or capital markets
  • Prior experience as a CISO, Deputy CISO, or equivalent senior information security leadership role
  • Proven track record of building, scaling, and leading high-performing globally distributed teams with personnel across multiple regions
  • Deep familiarity with SOX, SEC/FINRA, FCA, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001
  • Exceptional executive communication skills with direct experience presenting to Boards of Directors, audit committees, and C-level stakeholders
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, budgets in excess of $10M, and cross-functional initiatives
  • Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
  • Preferred: CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC certification
  • Strategic/oversight-level familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware, KVM, bare-metal, Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Infrastructure-as-Code, GitOps, AI/ML cybersecurity applications, trading exchange connectivity, ultra-low-latency architectures, co-location operations, cybersecurity transformation, DevOps/SRE cultures, and M&A-driven technology integrations
