About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide customers with prompt service and advice about commercial insurance
- Help customers understand insurance and discuss customer concerns
- Receive and process incoming commercial paperwork
- Assist with quotes, write new business, review existing coverage, and update customer files
- Prepare insurer documentation and complete applications for new clients
- Issue insurance certificates
- Process endorsements and invoices
- Follow up on payments
- Communicate with insurance companies
- Negotiate with underwriters on customers' behalf
- Negotiate renewal terms
- Follow up with adjusters on claims status
- Source additional information requested by underwriters
- Complete applications
- Contribute as a new member of the growing team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Valid provincial insurance license or willingness to obtain one
- Industry accreditation such as CAIB or CIP is an asset
- High School and/or Post Secondary Education
- Strong customer focus and administration skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities successfully
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Commitment to superior customer service
- Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment
