About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support development and production of seasonal lines from conception to delivery
  • Partner with Designers, Merchants, Technical Designers, and the Regional Office to develop product
  • Support the PD/Prod Manager in meeting margin objectives and category sourcing strategy
  • Coordinate cross-functional objectives and communication
  • Ensure development calendar milestone dates and deliverables are met
  • Manage PLM line-sheet data and reporting tools for product-information accuracy
  • Participate in Material Strategy meetings and ensure fabric selections meet target costs
  • Reserve and track proto/salesmen yardage, handlooms, lab dips, and strike-offs; communicate comments to suppliers
  • Help identify alternative materials and ensure products are designed to cost
  • Determine pre-allocation with the team
  • Attend design handoff meetings, determine prototype needs, and complete initial BOMs
  • Monitor deadlines, troubleshoot issues, and prevent delays
  • Track and log samples arriving at the New York office
  • Attend weekly garment fittings and communicate changes to suppliers, Costing, and Regional Office partners
  • Complete BOMs for development and bulk production
  • Correspond daily with the Regional Office and suppliers
  • Support collection, approval, and distribution of fabric bulk standards
  • Maintain pre-production and production calendars
  • Counter-source and provide options to Designers and Merchants to achieve global margin goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree required
  • Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in product development or production
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of Flex PLM system
  • Technical understanding of fabrics and garment manufacturing process
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with multiple cross-functional teams, overseas office, and global supply base
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks to achieve critical path deadlines
  • Strong understanding of product costs and cost estimating skills
  • Solid analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to accuracy of product details
  • Ability to adapt to change and react quickly to shifting demands
  • Must be a team player
  • Strong follow-up skills, solution orientation, and initiative
  • Ability to understand how the role impacts the larger business
