About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide project leadership and technical proficiency for environmental engineering projects
- Own structural design and accountability for delivery of the project structural team
- Perform structural analysis and design of concrete, steel, aluminum, and masonry structures
- Investigate existing conditions and prepare associated reports with recommendations
- Prepare structural drawings and specifications in compliance with building codes
- Coordinate across disciplines to resolve design conflicts and support cohesive project delivery
- Provide construction-phase support, including shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, change order preparation, and substitution requests
- Adapt to and execute assignments based on evolving project needs
- Mentor, guide, support, and share knowledge with less experienced team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in structural engineering or a related field
- Experience in structural design and detailed understanding of construction processes
- Proven experience reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs in a construction setting
- Passed or working toward passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam required for Engineer in Training registration
- Intermediate proficiency in structural analysis, design, and detailing of concrete, steel, aluminum, and masonry
- Working knowledge of ACI 318, ACI 350, AISC 360, IBC, and ASCE 7
- Ability to investigate existing conditions and prepare precise reports
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software, such as RISA or STAAD
- Basic understanding of water treatment processes
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering or equivalent relevant experience
- Must be located in the Mountain or Pacific time zones
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment background check and drug test
