About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Identify and understand emerging market needs and opportunities for new product development
- Define client, prospect and internal stakeholder needs
- Evaluate legal, regulatory, technical and operational environments for product opportunities
- Design and conceptualise scalable product solutions
- Translate business needs into clear product requirements
- Develop detailed use cases to support product development and decision-making
- Support assessment of commercial desirability, viability, technical feasibility and ROI
- Create functional sketches, schematics, process flows and prototypes
- Apply business design principles and operational-process knowledge
- Reuse existing product microservices, capabilities and technology architecture
- Refine product designs using stakeholder, user and client feedback
- Partner with Systems, Technology and Change Management teams on feasibility, costs and development strategies
- Establish timelines, deliverables, responsibilities, risks and project governance
- Act as Product Owner within Agile/Scrum teams when required
- Validate product and functional assumptions with business stakeholders
- Influence cross-functional teams to deliver agreed product outcomes
- Establish product adoption targets and success measures
- Demonstrate product capabilities to clients, prospects and internal stakeholders
- Support sales by articulating product capabilities and client value
- Gather and incorporate feedback from clients, prospects and users
- Manage client expectations throughout development and implementation
- Support client rollout and adoption
- Maintain and evolve the product roadmap
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong understanding of business operations and ability to identify core business problems and opportunities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate complex challenges into practical product solutions
- Forward-looking approach to product development
- Technical understanding and ability to influence and sponsor technology development initiatives
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL advantageous
- Understanding of Agile development and Scrum
- Ability to create clear visual representations using PowerPoint, Visio or similar tools
- Understanding of data-related challenges and potential technology solutions
- Strong commercial and ROI mindset
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and drive initiatives forward
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders
- Comfortable engaging directly with clients and prospects and representing product capabilities externally
- Collaborative approach and ability to build relationships across Product, Technology, Operations, Change Management and other business functions
