About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as a core contributor to team priorities and communicate the strategic value and rationale behind departmental goals to the broader media team
  • Help develop, articulate, and promote the agency-wide departmental view on media strategy, emerging tactics, and technical execution
  • Conduct deep-dive media, industry, and company research to support accurate, innovative, and strategic advertising and marketing plans
  • Independently run mid-spend clients and advertising campaigns from inception to completion
  • Present media strategies, performance insights, and campaign reporting directly to clients
  • Develop comprehensive, data-backed media plans aligned with client and campaign objectives
  • Collaborate with Client/Account Leads to align deliverables with high-level strategic approaches
  • Lead end-to-end campaign implementation and management across digital and traditional platforms
  • Oversee campaign execution, optimization, and analysis, including partner negotiation and contracting
  • Improve and develop processes to streamline cross-team communication and ensure flawless media-plan execution
  • Foster collaborative relationships across client and internal specialty teams, including Buying, Marketing Analytics, and Insights
  • Identify workflow and operational process improvements and partner with Planning Directors on scalable solutions
  • Attract, retain, and develop paid media talent through active management, mentorship, and structured training
  • Guide junior and mid-level planners on campaign management, analytical thinking, and client communication

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6–9 years of relevant work experience in digital media strategy, planning, and direct-IO buying (agency experience preferred)
  • Proven track record of independently running campaigns for corporate reputation, public affairs, and/or political clients
  • Enthusiasm for Democratic/progressive politics
  • Excitement to work alongside non-profit, advocacy, and corporate social impact clients and larger corporate reputation accounts
  • Advanced analytical thinking capabilities
  • Hands-on experience utilizing media consumption tools such as GWI and Comscore
  • Experience with business intelligence/dashboard software such as Datorama, Google Analytics, or Tableau
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate new digital systems, emerging media technology, and specialized proprietary tools
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for budget tracking, performance analysis, and data manipulation
  • Exceptional organizational skills and rigorous attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously
  • Readiness to work independently, think big, solve complex problems creatively, and scale leadership capabilities rapidly within a fast-paced environment
