About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Communicate the strategic value, operational rigor, and rationale behind media activation goals
- Develop and promote the agency-wide approach to buying strategy, platform best practices, and technical execution
- Analyze programmatic inventory and conduct vendor research
- Negotiate and execute effective, innovative, market-leading media activations
- Contribute to complex client programs by understanding goals and making strategic recommendations
- Manage and supervise campaigns across multiple verticals, channels, and buying platforms
- Analyze platform metrics, provide actionable insights, and optimize campaign performance
- Identify and implement client workflow and process improvements
- Coordinate across client teams, set expectations, secure buy-in, and solve problems
- Conduct media, industry, and company research to support advertising and marketing plans
- Develop processes to streamline communication and implementation
- Maintain relationships with ad tech partners, inventory suppliers, and data providers
- Manage client and account team requests, including budget changes, campaign flighting, and audience recommendations
- Collaborate with creative and insights teams on media placements and campaign measurement
- Delegate tasks and collaborate with media planners on plan development
- Become eligible after 6 months to directly manage Media Buyers, Senior Media Buyers, and Media Managers
- Mentor junior team members across accounts
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years relevant work experience
- Proven hands-on experience in programmatic and social media buying, preferably in an agency environment, with a track record of successful campaigns
- Experience across public affairs, strategic communications, advocacy, and political campaigns
- Willingness to work on corporate reputation accounts and Democratic politics, non-profit, and advocacy opportunities
- Proven experience in audience planning and forecasting for clients
- Strong leadership, direct team management, and training skills
- Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities
- Hands-on experience running campaigns across digital ad formats in multiple DSPs, including The Trade Desk, DV360, Yahoo, and Amazon
- Ability to oversee ad operations and trafficking in Google Campaign Manager
- Familiarity with ad tech platforms, partners, tools, and emerging industry trends
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed client performance targets
- Passion for mentoring and developing team members
- Expectation to work from a physical office in DC, NYC, SF, CHI, or LA at least 3 days a week, unless hiring under a fully remote arrangement
