About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform quality assurance on behalf of Bureau Veritas's client
- Conduct on-site inspections during the construction phase
- Communicate with Project Managers to determine work-order scope, deliverables, schedule, and budget
- Resolve issues with Project Managers, fabrication shops, contractors, BV employees, and third parties
- Ensure services comply with project requirements and client contracts
- Generate, process, and respond to timesheets, billing reports, expense reports, emails, instant messages, and inspection reports
- Submit typewritten reports using Microsoft Word/Adobe Acrobat electronically to the Project Manager
- Communicate fabrication-facility information about upcoming assignments and potential Bureau Veritas work
- Maintain positive relationships among Bureau Veritas, fabrication facilities, and clients
- Execute multiple simultaneous assignments efficiently and with high quality
- Collaborate with clients, field staff, other Bureau Veritas offices, and the worldwide Bureau Veritas organization
- Operate computers, tablets, smartphones, and other productivity equipment as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current/active American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector or Senior Certified Welding Inspector (Required)
- NACE/AMPP Level II (Required)
- Non-Destructive Testing Level II or III (Preferred)
- Demonstrable experience in a similar position
- Reliable high-speed Internet connection
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Fiscal ability to pay travel expenses for 1–2 weeks in advance
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, and MS Calendar
- Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and other word-processing/document-control software
- Ability to understand and read complex design and fabrication plans and specifications
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work remotely, on-site, and/or from established Bureau Veritas offices/work sites
- Ability to use PPE appropriately and identify when additional PPE is required
- Ability to use a camera/smartphone and insert photos into client reports
- Ability to remain stationary for long periods, move around workspaces, climb ladders/stairs, and access elevated or lowered workspaces
- Ability to observe details at close range or at a distance
