About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the overall direction, execution, program management, and financial performance of mission-critical data center construction projects from pre-construction through commissioning and turnover
- Serve as the Owner's Representative and oversee general contractors, design consultants, commissioning agents, utility providers, and equipment vendors
- Manage planning, design coordination, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, occupancy readiness, turnover, and closeout
- Oversee mission-critical MEP infrastructure, including electrical distribution, UPS systems, generators, switchgear, transformers, cooling, low-voltage, fire protection, security, BMS, and EPMS systems
- Coordinate installation, startup, testing, and integration of critical infrastructure systems
- Lead FAT, SAT, IST, and final turnover documentation activities
- Ensure systems meet requirements for uptime, resiliency, scalability, and N, N+1, and 2N redundancy
- Monitor contractor performance, construction quality, safety, schedules, and budgets
- Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, commissioning reports, and project documentation
- Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans; identify and mitigate risks
- Evaluate schedule impacts, procurement challenges, construction conflicts, and commissioning issues and implement corrective actions
- Review third-party inspection reports and quality assurance documentation and resolve deficiencies before turnover
- Present project status, budget updates, schedule performance, and risk assessments to client leadership and executive stakeholders
- Coordinate with operations, facility management, and commissioning teams for operational readiness
- Maintain compliance with building codes, permitting requirements, utility coordination requirements, and client standards
- Foster safety, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement across project stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field required
- Minimum of 10 years of construction project management experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of direct experience delivering data center or mission-critical construction projects
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects ($25M+ construction value)
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, redundancy design, and commissioning processes
- Demonstrated success managing projects from pre-construction through commissioning and turnover
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
- PMP certification preferred
- LEED AP preferred
- Mission-critical or commissioning certifications strongly preferred
- Must be local to Hampton, Georgia
- Ability to travel to client/project sites across the U.S.; overnight stays may be required
- Ability to successfully work from remote location
- Ability to operate computers and electronic tablets; physical ability to perform onsite duties, including walking, standing, climbing, crawling, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds
