Technical Assessor Associate
Bureau Veritas Group. Perform QA/QC inspections of building systems, including electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, and structural components .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform QA/QC inspections of building systems, including electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, and structural components
- Perform building assessment projects, including data aggregation, equipment bar coding, housing data collection, parking lot studies, and surveys
- Conduct walk-through surveys of building equipment, systems, structures, foundations, interiors, common areas, exteriors, roofs, and pavement
- Collect data from equipment plates and enter it into web-based programs
- Photograph equipment, tags, site features, and building features
- Evaluate equipment condition and apply bar codes to identified equipment
- Review plans, construction documents, scopes of work, property records, maintenance records, inspection reports, warranties, and repair/improvement costs
- Compare site conditions with plans and construction documents
- Advance to complex assessments such as Property Condition Assessments (PCA), ADA checklists, and environmental data collection after training and on-site experience
- Prepare written reports describing findings according to ASTM standards using computers, iPads, and other electronic devices and software
- Identify deficiencies, hazards, and non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions
- Communicate inspection results and compliance issues to property owners, contractors, and stakeholders
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and inspectors to maintain inspection consistency and quality control
- Maintain project communication with senior management regarding issues and potential problems during site deployments
- Meet productivity and report-quality objectives
- Provide timely customer service and proactive solutions to client needs
- Follow company policies, SOPs, work instructions, quality standards, safety procedures, and applicable codes and regulations
- Travel extensively to client and project sites across the U.S.; onsite work and overnight stays are expected
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED) required; some college preferred
- Minimum of 3 years related experience
- Valid driver's license required with no significant motor vehicle report (MVR) points/violations (clean driving record)
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from clients, peers, and technical field staff
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret extensive varieties of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables

- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work near energized electrical components and in outdoor, elevated, and variable weather conditions
- Frequent travel availability: 75–90% of time, including onsite visits of up to three continuous weeks and overnight stays
