Technical Assessor Associate, Home Inspector Certification Required

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform QA/QC inspections of commercial, residential, and industrial building systems, including electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, and structural components
- Perform building assessment projects including data aggregation, equipment bar coding, housing data collection, parking lot studies, and surveys
- Conduct walk-through surveys of accessible and visible building equipment, systems, structures, foundations, interiors, common areas, exteriors, roofs, and pavement
- Collect data from equipment plates using web-based programs; photograph equipment and tags; evaluate equipment condition; apply bar codes
- Gather photographic documentation of equipment, site features, and observations
- Review plans, construction documents, scopes of work, property records, maintenance records, inspection reports, warranties, and repair/improvement costs against site conditions
- After training and on-site experience, complete complex assessments such as Property Condition Assessments, ADA checklists, and environmental data collection
- Prepare detailed written reports accurately describing findings according to ASTM standards using computers, iPads, and other software
- Identify deficiencies, hazards, and non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and industry standards including ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME
- Communicate inspection results and compliance issues to property owners, contractors, and stakeholders
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and inspectors to maintain consistency and quality control
- Maintain project communication with senior management regarding site deployment issues and potential problems
- Meet productivity and report-quality objectives
- Protect confidential company information and provide timely, proactive customer service
- Follow company policies, SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards
- Work overtime when authorized and travel frequently to client sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED) required; some college preferred
- Minimum of 3 years related experience
- Certified Home Inspector or InterNACHI certification required
- Valid driver's license required with no significant motor vehicle report (MVR) points/violations (clean driving record)
- Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from clients, peers, and technical field staff
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret varied instructions and work with abstract and concrete variables
- Time management, active listening, critical thinking, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safely
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
- Ability to successfully work from a remote location
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle with passengers
- Ability to operate an electronic tablet in the field and a computer
- Ability to travel extensively to client sites across the U.S.
- Ability to work near energized electrical components and in outdoor, elevated, precarious, and variable weather environments
- Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds
