About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Make daily collection calls to delinquent borrowers
- Write letters and/or send emails to obtain borrowers’ current financial situation
- Determine appropriate remedies to bring accounts current
- Review loan portfolios for past due accounts and other problems
- Document customer conversations and repayment plans
- Gather and review customer financial information
- Consider deferments to bring customers current
- Prepare loan modification requests and present them to the Special Assets Manager for approval
- Process ACH payments using the Busey website as appropriate
- Meet or exceed collection goals and objectives
- Prepare and review various reports
- Work with attorneys and other outside professionals as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School diploma
- Prior banking and collection experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret numerical data
- Ability to implement new procedures and approaches to problems
- Ability to analyze and solve problems based on precedent
- Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform duties and make decisions under frequent time pressures
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
