About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Draft, review, and organize legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, motions, correspondence, and other case-related materials
- Maintain and manage active personal injury case files, ensuring documentation, records, and correspondence are accurate and up to date
- Assist attorneys with discovery, including gathering medical records, bills, insurance information, evidence, and other case materials
- Serve as a liaison between clients and attorneys, provide case updates, and respond to client inquiries
- Request, organize, review, and maintain medical records and billing documentation
- Monitor case progress, follow up on outstanding documentation, and assist attorneys with litigation stages
- Track deadlines and manage calendars for hearings, depositions, mediations, meetings, and other case activities
- Assist with preparing exhibits, witness materials, trial binders, and documents for hearings, mediations, and trial
- Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries, reports, and other materials
- Provide administrative and substantive support to attorneys throughout personal injury cases
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field preferred
- Paralegal certification is a plus
- At least 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a personal injury law firm is strongly preferred
- Strong familiarity with personal injury claims, medical records, insurance claims, discovery, litigation procedures, and case management
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and assignments simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, attorneys, and other team members
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented legal environment
- Strong commitment to client service
- Candidates located in or around Seattle, Washington are preferred
