About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take strategic and operational responsibility for defined product categories
- Actively develop the procurement strategy further
- Continuously develop collaboration with suppliers
- Monitor product groups, procurement markets, and market trends, and identify opportunities
- Ensure competitive sourcing and sustainably expand relevant business contacts
- Research new sources of supply and acquire suitable suppliers domestically and internationally
- Independently lead price, commercial-term, and contract negotiations
- Develop long-term, collaborative supplier relationships
- Analyze procurement KPIs
- Oversee monthly reporting, including forecasting, for the assigned product groups
- Identify optimization and cost-saving opportunities and implement them together with internal stakeholders
- Help expand a centralized purchasing strategy and further develop procurement processes and structures
- Take ownership of assigned product categories and contribute experience and market knowledge
Requirements
What you’ll need- Several years of professional experience in strategic and/or operational purchasing
- Ideally, experience managing assigned product categories
- Established network of suppliers and relevant market participants
- Alternatively or additionally, a completed degree, for example in business administration, supply chain management, purchasing, or a comparable field
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills, assertiveness, and a confident manner when dealing with suppliers and business partners
- Analytical and entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong understanding of markets, prices, trends, and business relationships
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented approach to work
- Willingness to take on responsibility
