About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and implement custom software solutions for AI/ML-related pilot projects and use cases, including Google Gemini AI
Develop and work with APIs, including RESTful services, authentication methods, data formats, and API error handling
Evaluate and select appropriate SQL and NoSQL databases based on application requirements
Integrate SQL and NoSQL databases within the same application when appropriate
Apply security best practices for SQL and NoSQL databases
Participate in prototyping teams, support teammates, and collaborate to deliver working software applications on short timelines
Analyze complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions involving technology, methodology, tools, and solution components
Participate in agile delivery phases and ceremonies, including release and sprint planning, artifact creation, sprint testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives
Support Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical Federal Government systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must live within the DC, MD, VA area
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must be able to obtain a CBP Public Trust clearance
BA/BS and 7 years’ experience in a related field
Ability to analyze technically complex problems and develop and implement innovative solutions in a fast-moving software prototyping environment
Expertise in multiple software development languages, including YAML, JSON, Python, Java, JavaScript, and TypeScript
Full Stack development experience with front-end proficiency in Angular and back-end development
Ability to manage all aspects of a web application, including user interface, server, and database
Ability to work with Data Scientist teams to integrate applications with AI/ML, Big Data, or BI solutions
Ability to work independently on complex tasks with little direction and management oversight
Preferred: experience with live data and video streams
Preferred: technical certifications such as AWS Certified Developer Associate
Preferred: experience with DevOps/CICD solutions such as GitLab
Preferred: experience with AI/ML solutions or predictive analytics
Preferred: experience working in a geographically dispersed, remote team
Preferred: understanding of Data Science principles and best practices
