About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software in an Agile environment
- Create and support applications for a high-impact Federal homeland security program
- Develop full stack solutions across front-end interfaces and back-end services
- Integrate APIs, cloud platforms, and complex data systems
- Design, develop, and implement software applications using JavaScript
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to integrate APIs and enhance system performance
- Write clean, maintainable code and conduct thorough testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
- Document software specifications, design processes, and user guides
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must live within the DC, MD, VA area
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Must be able to obtain CBP Public Trust clearance
- Bachelor’s degree plus at least 7 years of work experience
- At least 5 years of experience developing Java applications and associated frameworks
- At least 3 years of development experience using JavaScript and/or JavaScript frameworks like Angular
- At least 3 years of experience working in a story-based Agile team development environment using Jira or a similar tool
- At least 3 years of experience working in an automated development environment, using CI/CD tools such as Git, Kubernetes, Jenkins, SonarQube
- Experience with Spring and Spring Boot
- Experience with Hibernate or MyBatis
- Experience writing automated unit tests
- Experience developing against relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DB2, Oracle)
- Experience translating business requirements into working code
- Experience developing in and deploying to a Cloud environment such as Amazon Web Services
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to collaborate with team members to ensure client needs and expectations are met or exceeded
- Cloud experience; AWS preferred
- Position limited to candidates residing in U.S. states where the company is currently registered to employ team members
