About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Enhance proficiency with F5 products and technologies through continuous self-directed learning and formal training
- Define systems architecture and hardware/software specifications
- Design, implement, test, and deploy solutions
- Conduct client training
- Perform new installations, migrations, upgrades, configurations, iRules creation, security updates, and troubleshooting across F5 product engagements
- Identify additional product or service opportunities within client organizations
- Cultivate relationships with partners and customers throughout project scoping, development, delivery, integration, documentation, and follow-up
- Perform basic project management, including status reporting, time tracking, expectation management, and risk communication
- Use F5 BIG-IP software for deployment automation or orchestration
- Architect cloud deployment strategies using related technologies
- Provide engineering expertise in application security, including L7 WAF capabilities and mitigation of DoS and BOT attacks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience focusing on the architecture and design of network or system infrastructure, including performance and management
- At least 3 years’ experience in customer-facing roles as a consultant or engineer
- Proficient in working with F5 LTM, Viprion, and iRules for 3 years
- Experience with configuring AFM with IP intelligence (IPI) is essential
- Valid F5 certifications such as 101, 201, 301a, 301b, and 302 or above will be advantageous
- Strong understanding of OSI layers 5 to 7 interactions
- Familiarity with web technologies such as HTTP protocol, SSL certificates, and web server administration, including Apache or Microsoft Internet Information Services
