About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build and manage client SAP environments
Ensure efficient SAP environment operations, system administration, tuning, upgrades, and security
Collaborate with clients and business stakeholders to gather and integrate requirements into technical specifications
Contribute to SAP solution design and implementation, including Proof of Concept development
Provide technical expertise and support for installations, migrations, and integrations
Work with OS and database administrators to optimize system performance
Manage upgrades, corrections, transport management (CTS/TMS), client and landscape strategies, and batch scheduling
Implement and manage user administration, security measures, access controls, authentication mechanisms, and compliance with security standards
Conduct training for end users and client personnel on SAP Basis processes
Create and maintain technical SAP system and process documentation
Identify and resolve complex SAP technical issues with technical teams and SAP support
Share knowledge, mentor junior consultants, and provide technical training
Test and troubleshoot SAP Basis services
Stay current with SAP Basis functionality, enhancements, and best practices
Travel occasionally to client sites or technical forums for in-person support
Participate in quality assurance and protect sensitive information according to security policies
Perform other related tasks assigned by the direct supervisor

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university with 5-7 years of experience with design/development, SAP system installation, upgrades, and performance tuning; or no degree with 7-10 years of stated relevant experience
Current CompTIA Security+ Certification required; if not already held, certification will be required after selection for the position
Advanced understanding of SAP Basis tools and processes, including system builds, upgrades, client copies, OS, print, backup and recovery, HA, across SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and Fiori
Self-starter and problem solver capable of functioning in a dynamic, fast-paced, change-oriented environment
Ability to anticipate and troubleshoot complex issues
Ability to support, encourage, coach, and maintain accountability
Strong organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Exceptional critical and analytical thinking skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and attention to detail
Limited travel required, less than 5%
Must be able to obtain and maintain an active government clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship
Nice to have: SAP Certified Technology Associate certifications
Nice to have: Experience with the Department of Defense or other Federal agencies
Nice to have: Experience mentoring or formally training junior Basis consultants
Nice to have: Experience leading SAP upgrades, migrations, or landscape consolidations
Nice to have: Advanced experience with cloud-hosted SAP environments such as AWS, Azure, or SAP RISE
Nice to have: Experience designing and implementing HA and DR strategies for SAP landscapes
Nice to have: Advanced SAP Solution Manager configuration experience
