Key responsibilities & impact

Own end-to-end solution design for an assigned financial process area from requirements through configuration, integration, testing, and production deployment
Direct the process-area delivery pod, allocating work and owning delivery quality
Provide people leadership for architecture, design, and technical personnel and performance input for matrixed analysts
Lead fit-to-standard workshops and design sessions with government process owners
Produce and maintain functional design documentation, architecture artifacts, configuration rationale, and traceability
Identify and adjudicate gaps between standard functionality and requirements; escalate extension requests with recommendations
Design and govern integrations with adjacent process areas, external interfaces, extensibility layers, and reporting platforms
Define target-state data models, conversion objects, validation rules, and reconciliation criteria with data migration leadership
Review and approve configuration and development deliverables in accordance with design standards and clean-core principles
Prepare and present content for preliminary, critical, and production readiness design reviews
Support unit, string, integration, and user acceptance testing; own defect triage and root-cause resolution
Support cutover, go-live, hypercare, and transition to sustainment
Coach and develop pod members
Travel up to 50% to client sites
Manage performance, development, workforce planning, compliance, risks, stakeholder alignment, and team effectiveness
Perform other related tasks as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience; 8–12 years of relevant experience and 3–5 years of people leadership experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 10–14 years of relevant experience and 5–8 years of people leadership experience without a degree
8+ years of SAP functional or technical experience, including design responsibility on enterprise implementations
Minimum of one full lifecycle SAP implementation in a solution design, lead functional, or architect capacity
SAP S/4HANA experience required
Deep configuration and design expertise in one or more SAP finance or supply chain areas
Demonstrated understanding of cross-module integration
Experience leading design workshops and facilitating requirements sessions with business and technical stakeholders
Experience leading a delivery team, including work allocation, quality review, and performance management
Ability to produce clear functional design documentation and defend design decisions in formal review settings
Must hold an active Secret security clearance or be able to obtain and maintain one prior to assignment; requires U.S. citizenship
Advanced certifications valued
Nice-to-have: federal ERP modernization or defense business systems experience
Nice-to-have: industry-recognized SAP certification
Nice-to-have: SAP Activate methodology and fit-to-standard, clean-core experience
Nice-to-have: SAP Public Sector Management, federal ledger extensions, or pre-delivered federal finance content
Nice-to-have: familiarity with FIAR, DoD 7000.14-R, and FFMIA
Nice-to-have: Agile delivery certification such as Certified ScrumMaster or SAFe
Nice-to-have: experience transitioning solutions into sustainment or operations and maintenance
