About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support batch processes, job monitoring, and maintenance activities with the technical operations team
  • Support technical and functional teams in an IFAMS (Momentum) Operations & Maintenance environment
  • Handle scheduled batch runs, ad hoc requests, data fixes, and problem resolution
  • Support annual financial close cycles, wave go-lives, and operational readiness activities
  • Write complex SQL queries for reporting, validation, and troubleshooting
  • Develop and maintain Perl and Shell scripts for automation, file processing, and workflow improvements
  • Manage batch job setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting using Control-M or other scheduling tools
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and file verification
  • Use GitHub or similar version control systems for script and configuration management
  • Troubleshoot issues across logs, job histories, and data flows
  • Use Jira, Agility, or similar tools for task management and issue tracking
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and follow Agile workflow practices
  • Organize and track assigned work to ensure timely completion
  • Develop and maintain Java code supporting operational tools or integration components
  • Work with Web Services, APIs, and FTP integrations for system connectivity and file transfers
  • Provide evening and weekend support for critical operations as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong SQL expertise with the ability to write complex and optimized queries
  • Hands-on experience with Perl and Shell scripting for automation
  • Experience with Linux navigation, troubleshooting, and basic server operations
  • Experience with Control-M or equivalent batch scheduling tools
  • Experience with GitHub or other version control platforms
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Agility
  • Basic experience with Java programming supporting operational utilities
  • Ability to work evening and weekend shifts as operationally required
  • Previous experience supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) desired
  • Understanding of AI prompting and ability to work with tools like Copilot, Claude, and ChatGPT desired
  • 3+ years experience in technical operations, production support, or system operations roles desired
  • Experience working with OpenShift environments desired
  • Working understanding of Web Services, APIs, and FTP integrations desired
