About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Directly support national security and suitability investigations
  • Support field and review departments through the investigator helpline and case scoping
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on customer policies and procedures, case coverage, issue resolution, reporting requirements, and FWS
  • Answer case-related questions from field investigators, reviewers, and section leads by telephone and email
  • Understand the essential functions of field and review department positions
  • Review the front end of field investigations for compliance with national standards and customer requirements
  • Provide guidance to CACI field staff on investigation responsibilities and issues raised during investigations
  • Assess designated case types and communicate important case information to the field
  • Cancel unwarranted items and ensure necessary field work is scheduled or extended
  • Manage daily workload and task list according to customer, business, and team needs
  • Participate in mandatory meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • U.S. Citizenship required for obtaining a Federal security clearance
  • Must possess and maintain a current favorably adjudicated T5 or T5R background investigation
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience in conducting Federal background investigations and/or reviewing Federal background investigation reports of investigation
  • At least 12 months’ experience conducting/processing background investigations
  • Must be able to multitask and handle email and telephone inquiries in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule availability; morning and afternoon shifts, including approximately two late afternoon shifts per month
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented, with time management, organizational, and administrative skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including recognizing patterns, trends, and issues; identifying key findings; determining conclusions; and communicating relevant information
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable U.S. Government security clearance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Normal office-environment physical demands, including prolonged computer work
  • Sufficient visual, speaking, and hearing abilities for office, telephone, and video communication
