About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Understand customer business requirements and develop architecture and design documents
Develop and execute Proof of Concept and/or Deployment Acceptance test plans and reports
Develop implementation guides with configuration templates and deployment plans
Execute and assist engineering teams with complex deployment plans
Resolve complex technical issues
Analyze and report software and hardware defects
Perform software and code upgrade assessments for CSfC enclaves and assist with or execute code upgrades
Debug and isolate complex problems
Study and analyze system needs, system development, process analysis, design, and re-engineering
Solve enterprise business problems using hardware, software, databases, operating systems, and networks
Design and define IT system architecture integrating multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications
Determine system specifications, input/output processes, and hardware/software compatibility and security maintenance parameters
Coordinate subsystem design and total system integration
Identify, analyze, and resolve program support deficiencies
Develop and document frameworks for technical-standard changes
Assist in developing and managing an architecture governance process
Support customers remotely and/or at their premises during deployment and operations
Provide high-level engineering support for Engineering and Implementation and Operations and Maintenance contracts
Travel frequently to CONUS and OCONUS customer sites

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology combined with 10+ years of related experience OR VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) 6.x Data Center Virtualization (DCV) combined with 10+ years of related experience
High degree of expertise with VMware virtualization technologies
High degree of expertise with VMware Server Virtualization, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Virtual SAN (vSAN) implementations, and vRealize Operations (vROPS)
Solid operational experience utilizing Virtual Distributed vSwitches (VDS) and virtual networking technologies
Experience with Ethernet switching, TCP/UDP protocols and common usage, and load balancing technologies
Experience deploying or maintaining OEM products including Dell, EMC, Cisco, and SonicWall
Understanding of Data Center Architectures and design principles
Experience with written technical documentation
Experience in NSA’s Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) or related Cross Domain technologies
Highly experienced with U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community policies and protocol
Secret clearance required to begin employment
Top Secret clearance preferred and required for continued employment
Ability to travel up to 75%
Quickly deployable to customer locations across the USA and worldwide DoD installations
